    What about “blanket”?

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe Месяц назад

      I normally use blanket as a border stitch and have never used it for lettering. But would love to see you try it and see.

      My bad! I didn’t realise you were specifically listing lettering stitches. Oops!

    This was a fun project! The only problem I had was getting the fusible interfacing to adhere to the fabric! Any suggestions?

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe 4 месяца назад

      So glad you enjoyed it. Now yes, fusible interfacing can cause some problems. You have to make sure your interfacing works with the type of fabric you have and that is individual based on the type and brand of interfacing you have. And of course, following the directions. If you are buying it at a fabric store the staff may also be able to help. If all else fails, you can always use sew-in interfacing. Good luck!

    Hi, sorry for the dumb question, but when i cross to the other letter after i have finished the other one, do i just jump to it or i knot, cut and then restart?

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe 7 месяцев назад

      No question is dumb. That is totally up to you depending on how you want the back of your work to look. I know some who are meticulous with the backs and want to keep them looking pretty. Others just wing it and go with the flow. No wrong answer. Now if you're embroidering clothing that will be worn, washed, etc. You may want to take the extra precaution of finishing and knotting your ends as it will ensure your embroidery lasts.

    can i use pencil for embroidery

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe 7 месяцев назад

      I would not recommend it, but you could try it on a scrap piece of fabric to see if it will come out? If your embroidery is thick enough to cover the pencil, it shouldn't matter. Good luck!

    Thank you! This is amazingly simple to follow. I made a baby quilt for my daughter while pregnant but never finished it because I was waiting to add her name and birth date. I've been hesitant to give it to someone just in case they make a mistake with spelling. I'm going to practice this hand embroidery and hopefully have her baby quilt done soon!...she's 15 months now😂

    • @PreciousMe

      I'm glad you like it and find it useful. Yes, practicing to get the spacing and "feel" will greatly help you. Would love to see a picture when you're done. Congratulations!

    How do you tie the stitches after the letter so it doesn't come undone?

    • @PreciousMe

      There are several different ways. The easiest is to just tie a knot

    I am not able to find the right needle to use. I want a long needle with a large eye. What size are you using in this video and where can I buy some? Can others please comment if you know.

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe Год назад

      I just used basic embroidery needles (very inexpensive). You can find them at Walmart, Amazon, Joanne's, or anywhere that has embroidery items. Even some basic sewing needles come packaged with the larger embroidery ones.

    I usually just do my embroidery onto my cotton with nothing behind it. I only do a word or two, maybe a heart. But I’m about to do a few words on a cotton baby onesie. So is it important to put some sort of stabilizer on it? And if so, do I have to take it off when I’m done?

    • @PreciousMe
      @PreciousMe Год назад

      It will depend on the material and the amount (thickness) of the embroidery. I always use some sort of stabilizer, but that's my personal preference. If the material is "stretchy", without a stabilizer you will get puckering. If you use an iron-on stabilizer you won't need to remove it. Hope this helps.
